Footscray Outriggers are based at the Footscray Amateur Canoe Club
on the Maribyrnong River. Training is held on the Maribyrnong River
during the week, and either the river or Port Phillip Bay on weekends.
The club has both junior (10-19yrs) teams and senior teams. All members can choose to paddle competitively, or for fun and fitness. Members compete in Victorian Zone Outrigger regattas, interstate regattas including National Titles and many flatwater marathon races including the Murray Marathon 404km event.
The club owns one OC6 and three OC1 and one OC2 canoes, giving all members the
opportunity to paddle in both team and individual events. As members
of FACC, paddlers also have the opportunity to train and race in kayaks and canadian
canoes.
Footscray Outriggers hold a sprint regatta each year and are also involved in the running of the three races hosted each year by the Footscray Amateur Canoe Club.
